DILIGENCE, noun [Latin , to love earnestly; to choose.]
1. Steady application in business of any kind; constant effort to accomplish what is undertaken; exertion of body or mind without unnecessary delay or sloth; due attention; industry; assiduity
I say unto you, my son, that I have had great joy in thee already, because of thy faithfulness and thy diligence, and thy patience and thy long-suffering among the people of the Zoramites.
And if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come.
Therefore they did forsake all their sins, and their abominations, and their whoredoms, and did serve God with all diligence day and night
I think that diligence means to work, and to put your heart into it and to do your task FULLY without giving up. :) And when you really out your heart into getting something done, that's when knowledge becomes wisdom.
