sloth

SLOTH, n.

1. Slowness; tardiness I abhor this dilatory sloth and tricks of Rome.

2. Disinclination to action or labor; sluggishness; laziness; idleness. They change their course to pleasure, ease and sloth. Sloth, like rust, consumes faster than labor wears.

Personal Definition:

I think that being slothful means to be lazy. It means that you always want to stay in your comfort zone, and never try any new adventures.

You never want to leave your hobbit hole. :)

(I think, as a type 2, or a white (/blue) I don't like change, I just like peace, so I'm a little afraid of scary new things. Ok, a lot afraid of scary new things.

So, this is a good one for me, and for everyone really, because we got to remember that God is our strength, and with Him, any new task, or commandment, is possible.

He can turn our weaknesses to strengths, so why not turn our slothfulness to willingness to be tools in His hands and do what is right!

Personal Definition:

So, in the definition, it says the word "want" like 5 times, which I thought was interesting.

I think "want" and "weak" are very similar words. When we want something, we are vulnerable to it, which makes us weak. I think satan uses that tactic a lot, but I think God does too. Except in a different way. When we want some knowledge, or truth, (Which is what HE wants us to do) then we aren't really vulnerable, but more strengthened and determined.

So, really, when we follow what God wants, and want what He wants, and come unto Him for it, then he will turn our wants, or weaknesses, and turn them to strength.
